Last year I was in El Paso, Texas. Also known as the desert. So, when fall comes around, the temperature is just a little less than Hell. Seriously, it's terrible.. even in the spring. So when everyone posted these gorgeous photographs of the leaves changing colors, I was forced to take pictures of the desert and mountains. It was enough to satisfy me for the year I suppose.
I'm back home now. Kryss is finally out of El Paso and can see first-hand how beautiful fall is around this time of year. That's what I'm most excited for, to see how he reacts to the seasons changing. He is excited because it's his first time ever in another state, living on his own and I want to make it special. We took some trails this weekend and although we were a bit too early for the colors of the leaves, it was still such a beautiful day out. We're at the beginning of the change and I can't wait to see it slowly turn.
A friend on Instagram posted a photograph of a scenic area around here and I freaked. It was covered in orange leaves scattered all over. I asked where he was and he told me Cazenovia, New York. I think we'll take a trip up there as soon as we can and I can show him how beautiful that little town is. I'm determined to get a picture of him playing in the leaves. I'm still a little bummed I left that college. It was such a beautiful college town.
So, this month I'm going to soak up this wonderful time of year, when the leaves turn all sorts of beautiful colors, more tea and coffee, an open window at night letting in the cool weather while I'm snuggled under a blanket. Haunted houses and hayrides, something I haven't done in years are also on the top of my to-do list. I'd also love to add a fall-inspired tattoo but I'm sure that's not going to happen right now.
Yes, I am part of the "OMG, It's fall and October and ohmygawd fav tyme of year!2!" cliche and I am sorry, but this time of year truly makes me happy, especially after being away from it for what seems like forever.
