My sister signed us up for the Run The Jailbreak that took place in El Paso. The day crept on me and when it was time to go, I was nervous as hell. It's a three mile run across a park and you've got to do these obstacles. I didn't think I would be able to keep up or complete the whole thing. I DID IT. I even noticed the people I started with got to the finish line the same time we did, which made me feel pretty awesome.
Anyway, it wasn't as bad as I thought. I thought it would be a lot more tough than it was. The worst part was probably the end when we got to the finish and had to crawl through mud while everyone watched and cheered their friends and family on. I felt so good after completing it and it makes me want to do another one. I'm actually doing the color run when it comes here in September, which I'm so pumped for!
My sister, her friend and I after the race. We were COVERED in mud.
It was such a proud moment for me. It was only three miles so it really shouldn't of meant much of anything to me. I'm now going through a "I should get fit!" phase where I constantly think about working out. I think I'm going to try to get a little more in shape because yesterday and today, I am dying. My legs and stomach are killing me and my back is so sun burnt. Seriously, I sneeze and my stomach tightens and I yelp. I went into work yesterday and everyone kept asking why I was so red. I don't get tan, I just get insanely red and SOMETIMES it turns into a little bit of a tan.
I'm realizing just how UN-fit I really am. I feel like such a fatass now.
Anyway, if you have the chance, I highly recommend doing this or any other fun run coming to your town. I can't wait to do the color run in a few months. I've seen others that have completed it in the past few weeks and it's making me so excited for mine!
Also, here is a photo after the run and all of my badassery that takes place.
I seriously think that is the first medal I've ever received in my life. Though, I did win homecoming and prom king in high school. ;)
Sounds like a blast! So proud of you!
