The one thing I absolutely love about Kryss is the fact that whenever he's driving, he constantly keeps an eye out for a building or house that I would love to venture out to. He's constantly looking around to see if there's an abandoned building I can crawl into, or some on the side of the road attraction I'd love to photograph. We haven't really been around Syracuse much, mainly because I didn't think there was a lot to photograph around here abandoned wise. I was wrong. He found a few places.
Yesterday we both had the day off so he wanted to bring me to a barn he found on the side of the road one day. It was right next to a condemned house which was even cooler.
So, we took the drive out there around 4:00 P.M which couldn't of worked out better. I didn't want to go there too early when it was bright and sunny out, I wanted to shoot in an overcast day when the sun was slowly starting to go down, it would of made for better pictures. I messed around with the settings on my camera a bit, too.. something I never do. It helped me learn a lot already and it made the pictures come out cooler in my opinion.
I also edited these in Photoshop CS2 and used an action I created. It was the first time I've ever created one and I really didn't know what I was doing, but I think some of the pictures came out pretty awesome. I have a lot to learn about Actions so hopefully there's an improvement in pictures over the next few months when I experiment a bit more with it.

I am a huge fan of grain on photographs. I think it adds so much character to a picture and I couldn't be happier with the grain on these pictures. I think it adds a film look to it.
There are a few more places Kryss has found that he wants to bring me to. I love that we both enjoy exploring abandoned places and crawling into these spaces and taking pictures while talking about the possible history of the place we're at.
